(previously mistaken for Teddy Edwards' "Santa Claus, Santa Claus")

2001-12-03 Convention Hall, Asbury Park, NJ

During the first night of this year's Christmas concerts. "Santa Claus, Santa Claus" includes Bruce, Jimmy Vivino and Max Weinberg 7. Multiple guests ..... The entire E Street Band except Roy Bittan and Steven Van Zandt joins The Max Weinberg 7 as the band. "Something" and "My Sweet Lord" are played by Bruce as a tribute to George Harrison who passed away recently.  "Thundercrack" is next up". "Seaside Bar Song" follows. "Love (Stand Up)" and "Spanish Dancer" are Patti's spotlight. "Welcome To The World" and "New York Skyline" are Garland Jeffreys' contributions. Then Southside gets three slots before Nils Lofgren does the next two. Bruce and Southside share lead on "I Don't Want To Go Home". After "My City Of Ruins", Bobby Bandiera performs a solo acoustic "Here Comes The Sun". Otherwise quite similar to last years show.

Songinfo

"Santa Claus Baby" is a song first recorded by The Voices (1955). The Voices were a Doo Wop style vocal group based out of Los Angeles. The cut a number of singles for Cash Records in 1955, including the Christmas themed Santa Claus Boogie / Santa Claus Baby (Cash 1016). The Voices were Bobby Byrd (the Hollywood Flames) and tenor Earl Nelson and the bulk of their recordings were duets between Bobby and Earl, with Bobby allegedly overdubbing a third voice.

Lyrics

Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Send me, send me, send me
Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Send me, send me, send me
Just send my baby, send my baby back to me

Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Tell me where did he go
Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Tell me where did he go
I miss his kisses underneath the mistletoe

Well baby left me a year ago
But where he went I do not know
Listen Santa, got a job for you
If you don't find my baby, I don't know what I'll do

Santa Claus, Santa Claus
Send me, send me, send me
Just send my baby, send my baby back to me

Well baby left me a year ago
But where he went I do not know
Listen Santa, got a job for you
If you don't find my baby, I don't know what I'll do
