Bruce on the artist

Lyrics

How can you tell me that you miss me
When the last time I saw you, you wouldn't even kiss me
That rich guy you've been seeing well he must've put you down
So welcome back baby to the poor side of the town

To him you were nothing but a plaything
Nothing more than an overnight fling
To me you were the greatest, the greatest thing I'd ever found
And it's hard to find nice things on the poor side of the town

I can't blame you for trying
I'm trying to make it too
I got one little problem
I can't make it without you

So tell me, baby, will you think you'll stay now
You know I'd stand by you all the way now
Side by side, darling, no one could ever keep us down
Together we could make it baby from the poor side of the town
Together we can make it from the poor side of the town
